Biography

Tatiana Ausema is Assistant Director of NEH’s Office of Challenge Programs, focusing on infrastructure and resilience initiatives, as well as interagency disaster response and recovery. Before joining NEH, Tatiana worked at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden as a research conservator specializing in modern paint and paintings. Between 2007 and 2010 she also worked in the Hirshhorn’s Collection Management department, focusing on collection-wide preventive conservation and digitization efforts. Tatiana holds MSc and BA degrees in Art Conservation from the University of Delaware and has held fellowships at the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage, Western Center for the Conservation of Fine Art, and the Getty Conservation Institute.
