George Lazopoulos

George Lazopoulos is a Senior Program Officer in the Division of Public Programs. He has a PhD in history from the University of California, Berkeley and an MA in East Asian Area Studies from the University of Southern California. He is a historian of modern East Asia whose research focuses on the intellectual and political modernization of Japan, and has taught at UC Berkeley. His writings have appeared in Cross-Currents: East Asian History and Culture Review, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Diplomat, and the Oxford Literary Review.
