UWF takes special pride in military community

 Florida is one of the top three states for veterans in the U.S. with 1.6 million veterans. Our region has the highest concentration of veterans and military retirees in the state.

Last year, UWF received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to fund an interdisciplinary course just for military veterans. During the class, readings from Winston Churchill and Ernest Hemingway, along with classical pieces from Thucydides, Plato and others guide students as they talk about war from both a historical and personal perspective.
