Pratt Museum unveils face lift
The Pratt Museum has completed significant renovations and will celebrate with a grand reopening event May 25 from 10 to 4 p.m.
The museum has been under renovation since September 2018. Significant interior renovations were made possible by funding from the state of Alaska, National Endowment for the Humanities, Wynn Foundation, Patrons of the Pratt Society, and numerous local donors. The renovation expanded and improved gallery spaces, installed lifts and ramps within the building for full accessibility, and created a dedicated collections curatorial area downstairs.
Executive Director Laurie Stuart said, "Both inside and out, the Museum now better reflects the level of care that our stakeholders have been striving for over the past decade. This was an intense project that exemplifies the dedication of our community and partners. "
