Dearborn homes and the people who have lived in them: Debra Reid, curator at The Henry Ford
Debra “Deb” Reid has found her home—as a resident in the Ford Historic Homes District and as the curator of Agriculture and the Environment at The Henry Ford. She hails from Illinois where she taught at Eastern Illinois University.
Every other summer the Museum trains 72 teachers through the National Endowment for the Humanities. They come on Sunday and learn until Friday. She assists faculty at the Henry Ford Academy by working with practicum students and guest lecturing. She engages with donors and researches and writes constantly, putting history into current context. She has either edited, written, or co-authored numerous publications, including five books.
