Tell Me: Sharing Bread & Migration Stories
Does your family have a traditional bread? The library will provide breads from across the globe and you are invited to break bread and share your most memorable stories of migration and Glendale. This event is presented alongside the Tell Me exhibit which ran through November 8, 2019. This exhibit focuses on individual narratives—stories of origin and migration—a deeply intimate act similar to “breaking bread.” Recorded videos chronicle the stories of migrants; recent migrants, second- and third-generation immigrants share their stories, contributing to our community’s rich social fabric.
This program is part of a project entitled Tell Me: Stories of Migration to Glendale that is supported by California Humanities through a Humanities for All Project Grant. California Humanities is a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humaanities.
