NEH-supported Projects Win Peabody Awards

The 71st annual George Foster Peabody Award winners were released, and three NEH-supported documentary films are among the winners: American Experience's Freedom Riders, about the hundreds of Civil Rights activists who challenged segregation in interstate transport in the American South during the spring and summer of 1961; American Masters' Charles and Ray Eames—The Architect and the Painter, on the husband and wife design team; and POV's My Perestroika, that examines how Russians experienced the social, political, and economic changes that accompanied the fall of communism in the 1980s.
